Ship's Log 07/02/09

South Florida just had more rain in these two days then I've ever seen. At least I managed to return the car but a bike ride from the airport was pretty tough. It was hot, and I had to look for sparkplugs, coke, and few other items. I finally made it back to marina around 12:30. Just in time for rain. Getting gas turned out to be a challenge. I had to jump off the bow sprit onto the dock. the boat was hard aground and would not move. So the usual way to get off which is on the side was impossible. Side rail was about 5 feet from the dock. I got 7 cans of gas, and by the time filled the last one, the boat was floating again. During the entire time heavy rains and thunderstorm were hindering the progress. Its now 5:30PM, and there are still more thunderstorms on the way. I'm exhausted, but at least everything got finished. Looks like I'll get a chance to get off this damn dock during the morning hours. Tide is high and the boat is floating at the moment. I'll make sure I use tomorrow AM high tide to get out of this marina.
